Located at El Chorro Regional Park on Highway 1 between Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo, the San Luis Obispo Botanical Gardens is a world class garden in the making.
The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden consists of a 2-acre preview garden that gives visitors a beautiful glimpse of what is and what's sure to arise from the Garden's master plan. When you visit the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden you will see history in the making as the Garden transforms into one of the largest botanical gardnes in the western United States, covering 150 acres.
The master plan for the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden merges the ideas of traditional botanical garden design with the educational and artistic aspects of a cultural institution. And upon completion, this unique garden, which concentrates on the five mediterranean climate zones (California, Mediterranean Basin, Chile, South Africa, and Australia) and their cultures, is likely to become a world-class attraction.
We encourage you to include a visit to the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden in your Morro Bay travel itinerary. The Botanical Garden is a work in progress that is worth a visit today.
